Senior Software Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and delivery of complex cloud-native systems. You will take ownership of architecture decisions, guide teams through implementation, and mentor engineers. While cloud expertise is essential, experience with AI is advantageous.
The majority of your time will be spent writing code and mentoring small teams on the delivery of business-critical outcomes. You will have a passion for software engineering excellence and customer success.

Location Requirements
This role is based in Belfast. Therefore, candidates should be located in Northern Ireland.

Day to day:
- Contribute to the design and delivery of large-scale, secure, and resilient cloud-based systems.
- Ensure engineering standards and best practices are met.
- Help set direction for cloud-native development.
- Mentor and support other engineers and peers.
- Develop and write great code on a daily basis, leading by example.
- Research, evaluate and implement new technologies that help improve how we work.
- Proactively contribute to a team culture that values quality, robustness and knowledge sharing.
Need to have:
- A minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience in the software industry.
- Expertise in Java or Typescript
- Experience developing cloud-native solutions
- Experience developing secure and robust architectures.
- Experience using Agile methodologies.
- Exceptional understanding of coding principles, from functional to OO, clean coding to testing, etc.
- Excellent understanding of emerging technologies and engineering best practices.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Great interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Eligibility to live and work in the UK (please note we are unable to provide VISA sponsorship).
Nice to have:
- Python experience would be advantageous.
- AWS / Azure / GCP certified.
- Experience using AI tooling to accelerate delivery.
- Experience using frontend frameworks such as React or Angular.
- Experience building AI enabled solutions.
- Experience working with business stakeholders.
